Many congratulations on your wedding, you have now entered the exciting stages of planning the one of the, if not the most special days of your lives. Once you have said the I do’s and tied the knot we would love to host your reception and take as much stress off you as possible by planning the wedding breakfast around what you would like with a bespoke package that is tailored to the requirements you have.

What can Sweetwoods Park offer you

At Sweetwoods, we have a team of people who will do everything we can to make your wedding day as special as we possibly can. We have a reputation for hosting weddings, family celebrations and functions with great success and play a part in making happy memories.

Upon choosing Sweetwoods Park we start every conversation with a cup of coffee, biscuits and a blank piece of paper. It is for you to tell us what you want and we will guide you through with our experience and expertise to create the day that you have in your dreams. We do not present you with set menus or set seating plans we tailor these to your vision. If it is a six course wedding breakfast, an informal hog roast with a dessert buffet or anything in between, we are the venue that will bring all the things you wish for together.

Carolyn Gravely (Events Administrator) will walk you through all of the booking options whilst our Head Chef Alan Osborne can prepare a mouth-watering bespoke menu to suit your exact requirements.
Club members, including social members, receive function room hire free-of-charge as a perk of their membership, so if you are thinking of hosting an event here it may be worth joining the club as a Social Member.

Our well appointed clubhouse looks out over the eighteenth green and onto the expanse of our beautifully manicured course set in the countryside on the outskirts of the Ashdown forest. Driving down to the clubhouse you take in the stunning views of the course with the quaint village of Cowden nestled into the lush woodland in the distance (it truly is a beautiful backdrop).

Our stunning course which is set over 170 acres of Sussex countryside has an array of idyllic backdrops including lakes, valleys and woodland for photography that you can discover by buggy to capture the photos you want to keep for ever.

Our clubhouse can cater for up to one hundred guests for a sit down meal and up to one hundred and fifty guests for a more social gathering. You will of course have the opportunity to taste what you wish to serve your guests. We do not underestimate the importance of dietary requirements and getting the menu right for your big day.

The cost of your big day

As every part of your wedding is tailored to your wishes we quote every wedding on its own merits.


• On the day your suppliers have access to the venue from 7am.
• Your guests are welcome to use our facilities for golf, changing room and shower facilities and refreshments by booking from 7am.

The Bluebell Restaurant

• The Bluebell Restaurant and Function suite can comfortably seat 100 guests and host 150 guests for a more social occasion.
• Dance floor and space for a D.J or Band.
• Sound system built in to the ceiling for music and microphone system.
• Projection system
• Comprehensive wine selection.
• Well appointed bar with seven beers, ales and Cider on draught.
• The Chartwell suite will be transformed into the perfect evening reception.

Your evening reception

• We have a music and liquor license till midnight.
• Your D.J or music to be set before guests arrive.

The Grounds

• We are incredibly fortunate that our 170 acre estate is kept in pristine condition by our team of greenkeepers.
• Our grounds have stunning gardens, statues, Five lakes and natural backdrops for idyllic photos.

Dear Sweetwoods…

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the team for making our wedding day more than we could have hoped for especially as we only booked several months before. Every member of staff had so much time for us and where willing to show us round the venue and answer all our questions no matter how small.

We were so pleased with how everything went, both in advance and on the day thank you especially to Carolyn and David for their flexibility and attention to detail, not only accommodating our number of guests, the  menu and presentation of the rooms.

All the guests and ourselves rated the quality of the food highly. David offered us such a varied menu which took into account all our guests requirements.

Sweetwoods  has such a unique setting were we got amazing photos, also the opportunity to release doves but our favourite  feature was on arrival the original golf buggies where drinks were served “so beautiful”

We had such a wonderful day that we would definitely recommend this as a perfect venue for not only weddings but all other events
