World Handicap System

A Message From Peter Oliver, Club Secretary/Handicap Secretary The development of the World Handicap System is progressing to an England Golf timetable for implementation from 1st April 2020.  The Club is well positioned to manage the changeover and currently complies with England Golf’s advice for adoption of the new system. Anniversary Cup 2018

Sweetwoods Park is pleased to announce the details of this year’s Anniversary Cup on Saturday 26th May. Celebrating Martin Long’s 10 year anniversary of ownership of the Sweetwoods Park Golf Club and our 24th year of being open there will be an individual and team competition this year. This year’s golf will be a team Stableford Competition including secret scoring. The Members Section of the Website covering the management and operation of the Club has now been updated to reflect the forthcoming organisational changes.  Contact details and revised documents for Competitions and Handicapping are now available. In particular members should note the changes to procedures to enter Midweek Competitions to be introduced from Tuesday 15th May and for submitting Supplementary Scores once the full Measured Courses are back in play. Men’s & Ladies Captain’s Charity 2018-2019

  Mike Hall and Jo Eames are delighted to announce that our local branch of Nourish Community Food Bank will be their Captain’s Charity for the new season. Nourish is a registered charity set up in response to the increasing numbers of low income working households who can’t make ends meet once they have paid their bills, and those individuals and families hit by welfare benefit cuts or unemployment. Nourish is a registered charity that can provide short-term emergency support in a crisis

The 2018 Presentation Dinner Dance

Our annual Presentation Dinner & Dance on Saturday 24th February is now available for booking. The menu for the Presentation Dinner & Dance is set out below. Please indicate your choice of starter, main and dessert on the booking form below. The cost of the evening is £35 per person and cheques should be made payable to SPGC Committee. An Italian Food Experience

Sweetwoods Park is proud to present ‘An Italian Food Experience’, taking place on Friday 13th October 2017. Offering an Italian themed 5 course taster menu, prepared by our Head Chef, David. The cost for this experience is £30 per person, which includes home made chocolates and coffee. A great opportunity to enjoy David’s impressive culinary skills with friends and family. Captains’ Charity Invitation Day

The Captains’ Charity Invitation Day is taking place on Saturday 1st July. The chosen charity is Cardiomyopathy UK and it would be great to welcome as many members and visitors as possible to enjoy a day of golf and support this worthwhile charity.
