The Seniors section has around 150 members. It is open to all classes of membership for Sweetwoods Park Golf Club, who meet the minimum age limits of 50 for women and 55 for men. The only requirement for anyone wishing to join our section is to indicate this on their joining or membership renewal form. Latest news of Senior Section activities are to be found on both the web site and on the club house notice board.

The first point of contact is the Seniors section captain. The section day is a Thursday, from 07:30 to 09:00 for registration for the competition of the day. A fun competition alternates between a stableford or medal. The 2007 schedule, detailing the organisers, also indicates when stablefords/medals qualify for handicap purposes; any Thursday competition has a £2 entrance fee; and vouchers to the total of £64 are available to be won, with £8, £6 and £4 prizes per division, plus nearest the pin prizes of £10. This schedule also gives the dates for the Seniors invitation and Seniors Captains days. At the season's completion end of December, final tables of Trophy winners, eclectic and Super Six competitions are published.

To facilitate a level playing field for all rounds of golf the Seniors have also generated over the years a Q and A document on understanding the rules, when playing at Sweetwoods in particular.

The Seniors have 17 friendly matches during the season, including one against the main club ladies. The schedule for the matches is known well in advance and as many different individuals are encouraged to play as possible. The match fee is £12.50 at home, with the food and wine included for the home matches; an equivalent sum is payable away. Detailed match results are published as they become available.

Various social events are held during the year culminating in the heavily subsidised annual dinner and presentation evening in January. The latter and other events generate photographs which get put on the picture gallery.
